My Cancer:

I’m recovering more every day. Sleeping in not where it should be, one night 6 hrs, the next 3 hrs. My incision hurts at times. My belly (or liver ?) hurts off and on. I’m not walking enough and not using that silly device called a spirometer.

I talked to Dr Geller’s nurse on Tuesday, Apr 16. The pathology report is still not back.

I’m scheduled to see him the 21st, two days before Chemo start.

The nurse asked me if I’m ready for Chemo.

My reply was “I don’t know. Nobody has shared with me how sick I’m going to get or if I’m recovered enough to start Chemo. I have no way of knowing if I’m ready.”

She said we normally want five weeks between surgery and Chemo.

I said, “That sounds familiar.” Every day from day 1 to day 6, I asked Dr. Geller or one of his team if they contacted Dr. Ramineni to determine the start date. When I left the hospital, it was unchanged. To my knowledge, they never talked. I don’t think it is my responsibility that the doctors communicate.

I did let my frustration show.

She said we should definitely get the path report before Chemo starts and Dr. Geller will determine that on the 21st visit.

I think Johanna will be here for that visit. I hope so. I want her to be my other set of ears and eyes for the visit.

Other stuff:

Today, Trevor, our very handyman will start to install the gas fireplace we have always wanted. Pictures fill follow.

Today, we will pick up a new Plug-in-Hybrid. The plan is to replace both the LEAF (all Electric) and Rouge (ICE) with one car an Plug-in-Hybrid. We will be selling both older cars. If interested, contact me.

The Punxy pickleball folks have been bringing food for dinner every day since Apr 6. Friday is the last day. I am blown away my the number of people who kicked in to do this food train. The food has been excellent and abundant. I have had parties to use it all up and by this weekend, I’ll have enough food to last another week. I don’t know how to thank them enough.
