April 9, 2025

6:00 AM:

plan for the day:

  1. Get some rest, slow down, control the intensity, Wilbur monster.
  2. Dr Nettleton appointment
  3. Rachel Thomas appointment
  4. lower the intensity

10:00 pm

Good day today, but I am still sleep-deprived. Hopefully I will be able to get 8 hours tonight.

One minor concern: when I woke from my nap, I was fairly unstable on my feet. Rachel helped me to my chair in our TV area. She had set up dinner with the potato soup that Beverly dropped off. (BTW, it was very good, and Rachel told me I don’t have to cook until April 15. I didn’t know I had that many friends.)

Rachel stayed a while and found a cane (Rita’s hip replacement stuff) for me to use. I’m fairly certain it is caused by not drinking enough water, sleep deprivation, and doing too much, too fast.

I have modified my plan to get more rest and slow down.

From 5:00 pm to 8:00 am, I have to be super careful that I don’t fall down at home until Johanna arrives for her spring break. If I were to fall, without help,  Rita would not be able to get me up, nor call 911.

Tomorrow, if I feel OK, Beverly will take me to Big Run where we play pickleball so I can personally thank everyone who is doing a food train. I don’t have to cook for the next 6 days.  I am so touched by that group of folks I’m not sure I can hold it together when I see them.

I told Beverly, you make sure I don’t take my paddle with me.

Starting tomorrow, I’m not going to update this every day.  I will either update it weekly or when something significant happens.  The next big cancer event is April 23, when I start on chemo.
